Working with a Master

Maryola is an award winng wedding photographer from New York and she was in Edinburgh to shoot the wedding of Tanya and Chris (also both from new york).



I hooked up with Maryola to be "2nd shooter" for her bridal portraits session on the day after the wedding.

It's great to be exposed to someone elses style, especially someone with such a reputation and talent as Maryola. I hope I never stop learning.

Thanks to Tanya, Chris and of course Maryola for a great day.

Art Photography...

I had the chance to photograph these two original art works by local artist and former bride of mine, Odette.

Very interesting challenge to set up the studio for accurate still life photography when it normally has kids running around and a different atmosphere altogether!

We'll make a small portfolio album for Odette to carry round galleries.

I love these paintings, so much so that I'm now the happy owner of "Tropical Dune" Thanks Odette!

Jake and Robyn

Robyn and Jake were good fun. Grown up kids are great when they tell me what poses they like.


I like to experiment with this "false colour" technique which is very trendy and contemporary in style. Jake and Robyn were ideal for this.

Taking photos "in the field" instead of the studio is a challenge but can be very rewarding.

Robyn's First Birthday

My neice Robyn had her first birthday party last week.

She was maybe a bit overawed by having so many other folk in her house but seemed to enjoy the party anyway.

This young man was good fun, as were Mum and Dad.

Campbell was very easy to work with and had a great smile once he relaxed a bit. A few plastic balls to play with and we were off and running (or at least crawling!)

Julie and Joe 07/07/07

Joe and Julie were married in the Royal College of Physicians amongst Georgian splendour.

A beautiful venue and a lovely, relaxed couple - makes me glad this is my job!

Plenty of natural light to exploit as you'll see from the photos. I'm processing the rest of Julie and Joe's photos just now which lets me forget the rain outside my window.

Nicky received one of my Gift Vouchers for her birthday and brought her boys in for a family session.
