Laura & Gavin at Newton Hall, Northumberland

I'd been looking forward to shooting a wedding at Newton Hall as it has a great reputation as a stylish venue.

It's only 2 minutes from home and on arrival I wasn't disappointed...

I was there in time to find Laura and the girls having the finishing touches to her make-up

There were nice opportunities for photos all morning.

The ceremony was all smiles and there was lots of natural light from the doors that were open to the garden giving a lovely atmosphere

Back to the grounds of Newton Hall for drinks in what was now a sunny day!

Laura and Gavins' families had collected loads of old childhood photos and made a montage.  I thought this was a lovely idea and gave lots of guests a good giggle.

After a few quick family photos we went down to the beach...

Soon we were back at Newton Hall for the meal and speeches

I came back after the meal to find Laura in sporty mood

but we went for a few more photos in the gorgeous evening sun

My work was finished after the first dance (though I stayed around to listen to the excellent band for a while)

Serena & Aidan 25th May 2013

The day before Serena and Aidan's wedding was like winter so it was with much relief all round that the 25th of May turned out to be bright, sunny and warm.

Serena was ready nice and early and looked beautiful and very happy...

...meanwhile Mum Diana and Bridesmaids Rebecca and Lucy looked fabulous too. Bright and colourful outfits perfect for the sunny weather.

The church in Ellingham is in a fine setting and late spring flowers still bloomed.

Aidan and his boys were organising things at the church and all was in place in good time for the girls to arrive.

Here's that special moment when Aidan had his first view of Serena down the aisle.

Another lovely moment during the service...

...and back down the aisle to carefully chosen musical accompaniment (we'll say no more about that!)

We set up a confetti corridor for the enthusiastic guests...

and then it was off for a few photos in the sun with a view over to Cheviot (once the traffic had cleared!)

 

It was quieter in the garden back at home for a few photos in amongst the daffodils

At the marquee everyone was outside having a great time.

I was especially pleased to see my specially taken photograph of The Cheviots looking good as the background for the Table Plan.

The speeches went down very well...

After the meal came the first dance - an up tempo number that soon filled the dance floor.

It was lovely to see so many folk on the floor young and old alike...

It was so nice to be at a sunny wedding with so many lovely people and in such fantastic locations. More photographs will follow soon... Best Wishes

Liz & Paul - 7th April 2013

Liz & Paul's wedding was in the glorious Parish Church of St Michael in Alnwick. The cold weather prevails this spring but it stayed dry and it was cosy in the church out of the wind.

Paul & Charlie took a break from organising things in the church.  I love the anticipation and the nervously excited atmosphere before the bride arrives.

Liz looked pensive but absolutely beautiful with a gorgeously embroidered wedding dress.

The ceremony was very special as befits such a fine church.  From where I was standing, the singing was outstanding - well done all!

While the guests boarded the bus to The Alnwick Garden, I followed the posh car to the Lion Bridge...

And so to The Alnwick Garden for the reception and the whole room was buzzing with happy guests.  The tables were really nicely decorated...

Liz & Paul came for a few photos round the waterfall before I left the Happy Couple and their friends and families to enjoy their meal and evening's entertainment.
